Talking has always been Greg's thing - it's his passion. It all began
professionally in 2006 at the age of 12 when he spent two years with
CBC's "Information Morning" in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. At CBC, Greg
worked as a weather correspondent, using his expertise to give weather
forecasts and taking on-air weather-related calls from the public. Since
then, this "radio junky" has been seen on television and heard on radio -
regionally and nationally. Hanna has appeared on The Weather Network
(regularly), Sounds like Canada with Shelagh Rogers, CTV news, CBC
Television, The Cape Breton Post, and more. Before arriving in Yellowknife
in January, Greg spent the previous three years at The Coast 89.7 FM in
Cape Breton. During his tenure there, he volunteered for the first two years
before becoming an employee; he served as on-air personality and a member
of the street team.
Greg is involved and award winning in debating, public speaking, student
council, and many other activities. During his spare time, you can find him
doing just about anything to keep in shape, such as soccer, running, or
swimming. As an outdoor person, Greg also loves nothing more than a
walk around Frame Lake (during warmer weather!) or a weekend of camping
and fishing. Some of Hanna's most memorable lifetime experiences to date
have included walking the ancient streets of Paris, Montreal, and Rome,
riding through the Swiss Alps and the Rockies and taking a ride on the
"Maid of the Mist" below the beautiful Niagara Falls. From coast to coast,
he has travelled Canada thoroughly. On another note, Greg's musical tastes
are broad - spanning just about all genres. This Nova Scotia native is thrilled
to be in Yellowknife and the youngest member of the CJCD team!
You can catch Greg Hanna on-air in the evenings, Monday-Friday 7-12 PM
and on weekends.
