When I started my first day in Centennial College’s inaugural Sports Journalism program I had no idea my path would lead me into radio. I was, and still am, a sports junkie and ultimately just wanted to be around the teams and athletes I idolized growing up.

My interest in radio was piqued when I realized I could tell the same story as a newspaper reporter, only in a lot less time, and in a much more efficient manner. And getting the opportunity to interview world champion curlers and Hall of Fame baseball players has just been an added bonus.

In my short career I’ve had several highlights, including making my radio debut on the FAN 590 morning show with Gord Stellick, interviewing Glenn Howard at a Starbucks in Barrie, ON, and hitting a double off Tom Henke in a celebrity softball game in St. Marys, ON.

The path that led me to CJCD has seen me in big cities and small towns, minimum wage jobs and internships, and at one point, living back with my parents. But every single experience brought me here to Yellowknife, and I’m very excited about that.
